The flight was a charter from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Aviation.
The first hangar, 9,600 square-feet at a cost of $18,000, was built in August 1929 and is still
standing at the airport.
This airport hangar initially served as the passenger terminal fo United airlines Boeing 247
