Overview
Málaga 1935
The history of Málaga-Costa del Sol airport began on March 9, 1919, when a Salmson 2A airplane flying over the city in search of a place to land land landed on a field known as "El Rompedizo". The plane was piloted by Pierre Latécoère, who at the time was looking for sites in Spain to set up various airfields. Latécoère's objective was to create a commercial airline to link France to its African colonies via Spain and, later, to reach South America. SEABASE in harbor ICAO LEM2
